The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) mentioned this on Tuesday (June 21).

The utility for the ferry service was submitted by the appointed ferry operator, Batamfast, on March 23.

To assess the navigational security of the brand new ferry route, MPA had requested Batamfast to conduct a navigational security evaluation, together with an attestation by certifying authorities that the ferries are match for the proposed voyage.
