A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking two folks with a pair of scissors on Tuesday (Aug 2).
Both victims, a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old lady, suffered a number of accidents and have been taken to hospital.
In an announcement on Wednesday, the police stated preliminary investigations had revealed that the 2 victims and the suspect are identified to one another.
The police responded to the assault of the person in Serangoon Avenue 4 at round 8.30pm.
They stated: “After the attack, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle with the woman before the police arrived.”
The suspect was recognized with the assistance of police cameras. Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division discovered the car used within the escape in a multi-storey carpark at Northshore Drive in Punggol.
A search involving officers from the Ok-9 unit of the Special Operations Command was mounted to search for the couple within the space.
“The couple were eventually spotted hiding at the back of a lorry parked along Punggol Seventeenth Avenue,” stated the police.
The lady was discovered to have suffered a number of accidents after she was allegedly attacked by the suspect with the identical pair of scissors over a previous dispute.
The suspect was arrested inside 5 hours of the primary assault. Both victims are in secure situation.
He will probably be charged in courtroom on Thursday with voluntarily inflicting harm by a harmful weapon.
If convicted, he could be jailed for as much as seven years, fined and caned.
The police stated they “will spare no effort to track down those who commit such brazen acts and take firm action against them in accordance with the law”.
