Two merchandise of fashionable ice cream model Haagen-Dazs are being recalled due to the presence of ethylene oxide, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) stated on Friday (Aug 5).

These are the 100ml model of the model’s Belgian Chocolate ice cream, which expires on June 8, 2023, and the 473ml model of its Cookies & Cream ice cream, which expires on May 27 subsequent 12 months. Both are imported from France.

The recall comes after each flavours have been recalled by the European Commission Food Alerts’ Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed for the presence of ethylene oxide.

Ethylene oxide is a pesticide that isn’t authorised to be used in meals.

SFA stated: “Although there is no such thing as a fast danger to consumption of meals contaminated with low ranges of ethylene oxide, long-term publicity could result in well being points.

“Therefore, exposure to this substance should be minimised as much as possible.”

The company suggested customers who purchased the affected merchandise to hunt medical recommendation if they’ve eaten the merchandise and have well being considerations.

Last month, two Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream products imported from France with best-before dates between July 4 this 12 months and July 21 subsequent 12 months have been recalled for holding ethylene oxide as nicely. The affected merchandise have been the pint and Classic Collection Mini Cups variations of the ice-cream.
